TNBC past 2

Hi.  I've been in remission for 4 years and have felt wonderfully.  2 weeks ago I noticed a lump on the mastectomy site (closer to my underarm).  Ultrasound done and it states "an abnormal mass further testing is necessary" on the area.  My world came crashing down and slight depression setting in.  I am scheduled to have the dreaded BIOPSY done on Thursday (2/15).  I am praying that if it is cancer I can take it as it comes.  I was so mentally sick with the first one I really don't want to go thru again....  If anyone out there has gone thru this, please advise.....

Love you gorgeous ladies in PINK...  Mary

Biopsy was positive.  I'm schedule for a Pet scan to see if there are mets.  Scheduled for another port placement, surgeon visit (Onco doesn't know if the lump can be removed), surgery, chemo and radiation tx.  I am so freaking out.  Don't know if I can go thru this again.  Has anyone gone thur this???  Please respond..

    Oh He** not again

    Oh Mary,

I can relate. I was 8 years out when my second cancer was discovered. I too felt that it couldn't be happening to me again. I thought what did I do to deserve this twice ? When is your Pet scan scheduled? Once that is completed it can give you answers that will put your mind at rest. I know it sucks, just know that we are here for you and will be with you through it all. Love Surf

Pet Scan scheduled for March 12. I need to see a surgeon first to see if the lump can be removed since it's in the mastectomy site.

So sorry to read this, Mary.  I wish the PET scan was sooner than the 12th.  I can't imagine your angst in waiting.

I believe it has to do with referrals, insurances, etc...  Pet Scan on the 12th, Surgeons on the 13th.  Oncologist doesn't think that they can operate since it's on the mastectomy site.  I will then have to go to TAMPA for a second opinion.  ugghghg

    Stay Strong

Prayers for you first and foremost! I am also a dreaded TN lady. My year mark is May 3, 2018 and I too have found a spot under my armpit. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound on the 8th of this month. Please keep us updated with your progress. None of us want to hear that nasty "C" word again, but I have no doubts  you're a fighter! Look how far you've already came. Take care and sending hugs from NC.

    Port placement

I had my port placed on my right side in my jugular, it isn't that bad. The only annoyance with the port is the little bit of raised area..I don't feel it in my vein at all. Sending prayers, and they can do chemo not many days after port install. I think I had a 4 day interval between install and first chemo. Stay strong beautiful, you've got this!

    Port Placement

Had surgery/Port on Friday 2/23.  Doctor's report is that they removed the tumor but tumor was wrapped around a rib(dont know what that means).  Port Placement was above the original which is on the left breast.  All went fine.  Monday Surgeon takes out sutures and Thursday Onco appointment.  They haven't given me the results for PET SCAN, so I'm a little nervous.  I'll find out what kind of chemo they will give me, cause on the last visit she said she was going to change the chemo meds.

    GOOD NEWS

Pet scan clear. Cancer hasn't spread, yeah. I will be starting chemo in 2 weeks (cause of surgery).  I will be having TAXOTERE and CARBOPLATIN.  After the first chemo tx in January 2014, I lost all my hair.  For some reason or other, my hair grew so fast it's now close to my waist.  NOW I WILL LOOSE all of it.  I will shave my hair, cause I felt a little pain when the hair falls off.  Anyway, after the chemo, 28 rounds of radiation and then we'll see.  I'll have to inject myself again with the dreaded NEUPOGEN, ughghg hate it with all my heart.   Ciao for now

    Hello Mary

I'm Ali - new to the blog and newly diagnosed with TNBC (1 week).  Happy to hear your PET scan is clear.  I'm having mine fri or Mon and starting chemo next Thursday.  I'm scared to death but reading your story helped.  I'm praying you beat it again.
