Hi!  Today is the anniversary of my final day of treatment back in 2011.  Stage IIIB.  At age 54, I feel that I am the happiest and healthiest ever.   I rarely think about my cancer these days which really surprises me because it once consumed me so.  But I am surprised how emotions are still just under the surface as I teared up just a little when I remembered this particular anniversary.

God Bless you all in this new year!  My heart is with each of you, no matter where you are on this road to recovery.

Angela

    Hi,

Congratulations on your 7yr mark! I am only a month-ish behind you as I began treatment in February of 2011 for Stage 3b as well! Although I had a few extra mountains to climb in my seven years, today I too feel happier and healthier than ever!

It is funny how this thing that as you say literally consumed so much of our lives, is in time, able to take a back seat to really living!! I am so happy to hear that you are doing well and clearly remember your posts when I found this site years ago since we were in the same time frame.

It is always encouraging to hear from folks who have moved forward and gives hope to those just starting out. I hope this New Year finds you at peace in your place and blesses you with continued health and happiness.

    thank you

Thanks Angela & Katheryn, and Congrats to both of you!!

I'm only into by 3rd day of treatment and starting to feel quite uncomfortable from the pressure of the tumor, but your words of positivity and possiblitiy really help. I know there is light at the end of the tunnel and each day I'm getting closer!

    Hugs, health, and happiness,

    Maggie

Congratulations and happy anniversary!  I love to  read updates, especially from "old timers' sharing their news about life in the real world.  It gives hope to all of us that we may live well in what is often referred to as the new normal.!

May you continue to have many good years

    congratulations!

I'm 3 1/2 years post-treatment so you are an inspiration!  Thanks for posting. I know...at first it's a big part of our identity, but that fades as time goes on, doesn't it.  What doesn't fade is the gratitude for every day that we learned by going through this.
