Hi, has anyone heard of this procedure? I gather they freeze the tumor, it then breaks up and leaves the body when you urinate. I have a 5CM side tumor in side the kidney.

My docttor did not mention this option

It sure sound a lot better than losing a kidney

Thoughts apprecited

They will sometimes do this when tumour is only less than 3cm

They may try  if larger if patient has other serious health issues which makes surgery not an  option

    The gold standard is surgery

At 5cm you need it out and the sooner the better

    From what I have learned...

From what I have learned....best thing is to remove the tumor. They only freeze when the patient is not able to handle surgery. When they remove it during surgery they can make sure they get it all!! That is important.
