The C: Section Chronicles - 5 months

It's been 5 months since the last day of radiation treatment and I feel great. I still have issues with lack of saliva so I chew gum everyday. Because of the dry mouth and difficulty in swallowing I do not look forward to meal times. Drinking and eating is very slow, but hey...  I'm alive and that is one blessing I can be extremely grateful of.

I had a recent ENT appointment and the specialist said as far as he could see and feel, there is no evidence of disease. I had been told I would have a six month PET scan, but because I'm on the public health system and funding has been severely reduced the PET scan will happen in two years time... In the meantime it's the new normal and life pretty much as usual.

    GREAT NEWS!!

    Thank you... I was disappointed

At first not getting the scan earlier... but then if they say two years, then who am I to argue... Goals are everything :)

    NED is great news!

It takes time, allow a year, before things come back or not. The new normal sort of starts about then and you'll find that improvements happen slower as time goes on but things can keep improving. Hang in there, Don
