Study on mouthsores due to cancer therapy

Friday, September 8, 2017 - 11:15am
Your announcement.:

My name is Basem Gayed and I am a third year dental student at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. I am working on customer discovery efforts related to a proposed new product for mouth ulcers as a result of cancer treatment. This project is being led by Dr. Rajesh Lalla and is part of the Accelerate UConn program which seeks to advance the development of new products.

We are interested in collecting information on the possible need for a new medication to reduce pain due to oral mucositis (mouth sores due to cancer treatment). If you had mouth sores due to chemotherapy or radiation therapy, we would greatly appreciate it if you can take an anonymous survey at the link below. Your participation is voluntary. If you choose to participate, please complete the survey. While complete surveys will provide better data, you may skip questions that you do not feel comfortable answering. Your response to these questions should take between 2-5 minutes to complete. Completion of this survey signifies your consent to participate in the study. The information obtained may help in the development of a new treatment option for this problem. Your survey responses will be recorded in a de-identified manner i.e. no one will be able to connect your responses to your identity from the survey database. Therefore, your confidentiality will be protected.

Thank you for your time and consideration. If you have any questions, please send me an email at gayed@uchc.edu.
