Scanxiety

Options

My husband will have his first post treatment scan this coming Saturday.  Everything seems fine ... he's healing well, eating well, no lumps or bumps.  Just an occasional sore spot in his throat and a bout of thrush.  However I'm getting really nervous about this scan.  They only do a CT scan at this hospital unless they see something suspicious.  So, I guess I'm just venting a little and asking for positive thoughts and prayers for NED.

Thanks!

    Chill-lax

Take a chill pill. There is nothing you can do. So just try to relax and go with the flow. I know the feeling because I was followed up with 3 PET scan so far. It can be nerve racking but in the big picture there is ablolutely not we as patients or care givers can do about it. So just get the scan and grab some lunch afterward and be thankful. One stat NED request is on the way!!!

    Thanks :)

in theory, I know that's true and I tell myself that all the time.  I'm not really "worked-up" ... just a little nervous. :). I'm usually pretty laid back and a "what will be will be" kinda girl.  And hey, we have a gift card to the hospital cafeteria so we need to use that ... haha. :)

    It's such a scary feeling.

It's such a scary feeling. And it's hard not to feel anxiety. I'll send all my good things to you both . It'll be great!

    scanxiety go away

    Chicklette,

Time flies, you were just cooking. You have paid the price and the reward is all good going forward.  Use a  little bit of your laid backness with a pinch of your what will be will be and get something fun with the gift card, they often have some tasty desserts.
