in Colorectal Cancer #1

Went to my Oncologist for my follow up on my Xeloda and Avastin and ended up in ER.

 I told him my pulse seemed high, he confirmed it, couldn't reach my Cardiologist so I went across the street.

They messed with me for a while and the ER Doctor said it wasn't A-Fib but Atrial Flutter. My Cardiologist was at hospital (attending to an emergency)  and he came by. They gave me a shot of Metoprolol and a script for pills.

I'm at home now.

I was wondering if anyone had any Cardio issues while taking Xeloda and Avastin.

Thanks, any thoughts would be appreciated

    No reactions, but...

    I want to say how happy I am that they got you over to the hospital and sorted.  

    How scary that must have been.  So glad you are at home, and doing OK.

    Irregular heartbeat

    I have a prolapsed atrial valve that causes irregular heartbeat and a hear murmur. I take Metaprolol regularly, but the chemo makes the problem worse. They doubled my dose the first time I was on chemo, then went back to lower dose after chemo. Now it has been doubled again since l am back on chemo. It has been working very well and I have never had any side effects from it.

    Prolapsed valve

    Sorry for the mistake. It is a prolapsed aortic valve, not atrial. Someone transcribed it wrong in the initial report years ago and I have been getting it wrong since.
