Just another update

i finished 18 radiation treatments to the tumor between my spine and Vena Cava.  It seems like everything went well it is causing a lot of nausea and fatigue but otherwise not bad.  Good news is that the radiologist reaaly felt that the pain I had in my SI joint of my right hip was tumor relate.  He feels that the tumor is pushing on a nerve that runs down to my hip. I think he may be right.  I am having much less pain there and sometimes none at all.  I am going to start to wean myself of the oxicodone.  Had my first visit with my medical oncologist today.  We are going to give Keytruda another try for now.  He says that sometimes it starts to work again after radiation.  So next Monday we will.start it again.  He helped plan my infusions around a small vacation that we want to take.  All in all a descent day.

Hugs and prayers, Lou Ann

    Congratulations, Lou Ann

Congratulations on finishing another leg on your treatment journey. I'm so glad this part is over and you've had some pain relief as well. Thank you for passing along the good news, and good luck with Keytruda 2.0. Take care, B

    Thanks for the update LouAnn.

Thanks for the update LouAnn.  I hope your fatigue diminishes quickly and you enjoy your mini vacation. :-)

Glad you can get back on Keytruda and perhaps the radiation will give it the kickstart to get rid of the rest of the tumors.

    Soldier on my friend!

    Love and Hugs,

    Cindi

    Good plan/good news

Always nice to hear of your positive outcomes.  I hope that pain in your hip completely goes away as the tumor dies out.  Have a great mini-vacation.  Where are you going?

    I would hardly categorize

I would hardly categorize that good news as "just" another update! You finished another step in the process and have a good plan in place to help you keep fighting while giving you the quality of life that you (and we all) deserve. To me, that is a big win - congratulations!!

    Great to read about

your steps forward Lou Ann! It inspires me in my own journey. Being able to share our steps forward (and sometimes in the opposite direction too) and give each other support makes a great difference!

Very interested in how it goes with trying the Keytruda again. I'm beginning to explore immunotherapies as an option in the future should the need arise. Hope you have a wonderful vacation with your family!

Happy to hear from you Lou

Happy to hear from you Lou Ann. My mom is also suffering from radiation side effects like you, so we both sympathize with you. I will continue to keep you in our prayers and hope the Keytruda starts working!
