Just wanted to know if anyone else with rcc had their blood pressure go very high. My BP has spiked since rcc was discovered on my right kidney. My surgery is not until 28 April. Don't want to have a coronery waiting for my surgery.

    my systolic

runs between 80's to high 150's. I monitor it and use avapro from a half dose to1.5 dose to try to control it. It's a complication from disease and meds.

    High BP

Yup. My meds make me dizzy. Quit them yesterday. It's a fine line. I have a machine, but it doesn't seem accurate, so I quit checking.

    Mines always border line high.........

I pretty much have the same reading everytime, 140/80 was that way before the surgeries and has stayed that way almost 6 years later. I take 20 mg of lisinipril daily, no side effects that I notice.

    Me too!

My blood pressure has slowly been increasing but recently in since RCC discovered also at my right kidney my BP has ranged from 160/110 and slightly higher...so they rx metroprolol and it stlll has not significantly decreased bp but pulse only.  Im literally about to email my dr because Im worried that my bp will not be low enough for surgery (5/9/17).  Keep us posted.

    My average over several weeks

My average over several weeks and many readings is 130/90 but then it spiked to 162/95 at my Dr's office recently. Never has it been that high and when I checked it the next day it was back to my normal. No white coat hypertension either possibly because I work in the medical field.

    Those white coats...

Tesla, while simply being in a white coat setting may not crank up your BP, the mere possiblity of sometime providing you with info about your own medical diagnosis that's less than stellar certainly can (Let alone getting the actual info). This last year was a weird one for me, medically. I noticed that my resting heart rate during medical visits practically raced. Sitting at home, not so much.

I've worked in the healthcare field, so it's not just the white coats with me, either. It was stress / anxiety, because this stuff was suddenly about me (and it was potentially serious stuff). But still something to keep an eye on...

    BP spike

The day I went in to see my pcp for what I thought was a hernia my blood pressure spike so high they were going to hosptialize me, (I dont remember the specific numbers). A few days later when they found the kidney cancer they told me that was normal with this type of cancer and that it would come down after the surgery and it did
