Thyroid nodules but labs are good

Hi, y'all....I have been here before due to colon cancer in 2002 and breast cancer in 2005.  The US shows two nodules on my thyroid but my labs are normal.  I haven't seen the endocrinologist yet.  As all of you know, waiting on test results and on appointments is difficult.  Today I learned that the lab work is normal.  Basically, I'm just wondering if normal labs mean that the nodules are benign.  Any ideas you would share?  Of course, I'm keeping appt with endo, just wondering....thanks!  janice

    lab work

I am sorry to tell you that normal levels in thyroid labs are not an indication of benign nodules. I had normal labs the day before a fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy confirmed my papillary thyroid cancer. FNA is a good indicator though sometimes they do produce false negatives or inconclusive results. Keep that appointment! I hope the endo appointment goes well. Wishing the best to you.

Sorry to here and I hope all

Sorry to hear and I hope all goes well at your doctor's appointment. All my labs were normal, and I had 2 spots of cancer on my thyroid. I also had colorectal cancer too. Better to have everything checked out!

    Risk of follicular neoplasm?

Hi everyone, I am new here and confused where should I post my question. In 2014 I had my FNA and Dx was “Follicular lésions with a low to moderate risk of follicular neoplasm”. In the microscopic examination section it says that the Dx is most consistent with Follicular lésions with a low to moderate risk of follicular neoplasm. I have researched for days but still confused.  I Have not been to endocrinologist coz have no insurance. Any suggestions if I need a follow up or I can wait? And what does this Dx suggest? Thank You and have blessed days!
