Hello everyone

I actually do not know where to start with this blog.  Any advice greatly appreciated.  I am 54 yrs old-female.  Was informed by an ER doctor that I have a 2 1/2 cm cancer mass on my Liver two days ago.  I did a followup with our Provider and since she is not a cancer specialist she has managed to schedule an appointment on 2nd Feb with the Gastro Dept.  I am worried, because I have always heard cancer does not hurt it such a quite disease.  I asked myself what stage could I be in? Since I feel certain tightness pain that goes and comes on my back and radiates to the front under my rib cage?  I feel as if my back muscle wants to have a contraction/spam.  I pray that I am at the beginning stage and caught in time.  The ER doctor said that there is blood lines either going to liver from elsewhere...what does that mean?  The GI doctor called and said I would be a good candiate for surgery?  I am now having to wait till the 2nd to find what he meant by that...meaning a Biopsy or an actual surgery since I haven't even sat down to meet with them yet.  I had a Liver Biopsy two years all due to my enzymes coming back abnormal but was informed everything was negative.  ALso, hoping they did a right liver biopsy of the right cells and not a bad biopsy and pulled from wrong cells.  I am sure they would have told me.

Any advice?

Feeling worried, scared

    JoAnn, I hope your doctors

JoAnn, I hope your doctors were able to help you with your questions. It gets very quiet around here. I am told that when caught early, and tumors can be surgically removed, that is your best or even only option for cure for liver cancer. Please update when you can.
