Hi All, Looks like University Hospital has a new type of Proton beam radiation machine that controls the length of the beam. This should mean less damage to surrounding areas unlike other types of radiation that go completely through the body and hit other organs & tissue. Check it out as a possible resource, according to UH it's the only one in the state of Ohio. Don't know if it's brand new type or just new to this area. http://www.uhhospitals.org/seidman/services/radiation-oncology/our-technology/proton-therapy/what-is-proton-therapy Dave 3+4 |

Dave,
Proton therapy traditionally has bragged of virtually no tissue damage, so it may not be a new technology, but I certainly cannot say. They tend to be of limited availability and expensive, but with statistically very effective results.
