Just to give you a little update. Its day 8 of my 5th out of six chemo trearments.  Emotionally I am doing alot better than i was the week before my fith chemo.  That time was really hard. Its not perfect but a lot better.  Im not sure about physically though.  I hope i start feeling better as the days go by leading up to my last chemo.  Yesterday i tried to go to a hockey evaluation for my son and thank goodness my  mom was there because my stomach wasnt feeling very good and i went out to her car.  Eating had been hard.  Im still eating but not as good as i would like to.  I did have my daughter get me a bowl of cereal this morning which was better than the last few mornings in which i had toast.  For about 5 of the days i drank two carnation intant breakfasts to suppliment my diet during the day.  I hope that helped.  Twenty years ago when i had treatments i remember a time when i didnt eat good at all for a while.  I drank those carnation instant breakfasts and it helped so much. I got down to one hundred pounds and told myself at that time I wont get below that.  Those carnation instant breakfasts helped me ganin a pound in a half in a week. Im still hoping to get to a more normal diet soon though. Its been hard to not feel good and get the motivation to eat.  I keep trying to tell myself that i will get through this, but sometimes the light at the end of the tunnel still feels a bit far away and  I still try to focus on the moment instead.

    I'm glad you are feeling

I'm glad you are feeling better this time around, Janae. Just one one more round, so hang in there! My mom's own chemo treatments are inevitably around the corner, and I hope she takes the treatment well with minimal side effects.

Other than some stomach problems and the loss of appetite, have you had any other side effects?

Hope you feel better and I hope you don't lose any more weight! You are getting frightfully thin! Have you been taking probiotics during chemo? Maybe that would help regulate and promote the healthy flora in your gut and give you a better appetite!

    Love,
    Rebecca

    Fortunatly It was twenty

Fortunatly It was twenty three years ago that i got down to one hundred pounds when i had cancer back then and was able to climb back up to my normal weight.  Im not there this time and really hope to not get there either.  I lost quite a bit of weight from hysterectomy, but was accually gaining weight after that.  Even  during my first three chemos.  I changed chemo meds and that effected my nausia.  But i'm sure going to beet this beast.  I did it once Im going to do it again.

I am so glad that you are

I am so glad that you are feeling a little better.  That light at the end of the tunnel will keep getting brighter.  I think that eating was has been and still is the hardest thing for me.  I use Breakfast Essentials with 15 grams of protein to supplement my food intake.  So many things that I really loved are just not appealing since chemo, but it is getting a little better.  I also had luck with homemade smoothies for awhile.  You are a strong lady and you are going to,make this.

    Hgs and prayers, Lou Ann

Thanks lou Ann.  I am so

Thanks lou Ann.  I am so thankful for my carnation instant breakfasts. It was the first thing i drank at the hospital during recovery. Its nice to no im not alone in this cancer stuff.  I didnt want to but i at some chicken for lunch and for dinner.  I managed to eat some peanuts which i think in the past helped me gain the weight i had gained.  I would hope those can still make a difference.

hugs and prayers back to you too, Janae
