Adult Brain Stem Glioma C71.9
Diagnosis, I started noticing the first symptoms back in December 2015 but since they presented themselves at different times and were so random I never though anything of it. On April 13th, 2016 I had already started experiencing double vision and I brought it up to my optometrist’s attention on my regular yearly check-up. She did all the tests she could possibly think of and found nothing wrong, so she referred me to the Neuro Ophthalmologist who after doing an extensive physical examination found nothing wrong so decided to send me for a battery of test and a brain MRI. Brain MRI was done May 27th, 2016 @ 12:54pm and a few hours later I found out I had a brain tumor.
I visited 2 Neuro Surgeons (they agreed no surgery or biopsy), 3 Neuro Oncologists (they agreed Chemo and Radiation) and 4 Radiation Oncologists (they agreed to Radiation for 5-6 weeks). It was definitely a good idea to get multiple opinions and similar treatment conclusions.
I will be starting treatment today 6/23/16.
