My presence here today is to offer hope to those who are fighting.  This board brought me great comfort as I fought my way back to normalacy following the years after treatment for Stage 3B squamous cell carcinoma.

I am happy to report that in November I had my final annual check up with my surgical oncologist at Baylor Scott & White in Temple, Texas, sprinting through the five-year mark. I am healthier and happier at 52 than any other time in my life.

I remain steadfast in my message that it's best to be your own best advocate, that you need to tend to your body/mind and spirit, eating clean matters, not to settle for less than you deserve, and choose to be happy each and every day.

I rarely think consciously about my cancer experience anymore.  But it is ever present in the away I approach life and love.  I am forever changed.

God bless you all.

Angela

    Hi Angela!

I am so happy to see you come back here to update us!  Congratulations on being discharged by your doctor--that is so awesome!  I'm very glad to hear you are doing so very well, are healthy and happy, and enjoying life to the fullest!  Cancer does, indeed, change us--in some good ways, actually!

May God always bless you with the good health you now enjoy.  Stay happy and come back here any time to say hello!

    Love ya!

Thank you for posting!  Five years is AWESOME!

At first, I could not imagine a day going by when I didn't think of cancer but the time between those thoughts gets longer and longer.  Yes, it has changed us but not always for the worse.  I definitely am more grateful for all my blessings and have much more faith now.

Continued wellness and blessings to you!
