After SIRT in February 2015

Since last month the cancer markers increased sharply.

CT-PET didn't show new lesions or increase.

Since last month the bilirubin  was 3.5 . Now it is 7 and i have ascites ( significant) as per ultrasound.

Local oncologist says that it is hepatic failure  and

Now 1it is necessary  to take erbitux to reduce tumour load and this will

Only help in containing further disease .

As of now due to liver values chemo can't be given.

He says eyes are yellow and seems jaundice has set in.

Apart from bloated tummy and some fatigue all of the day I am fine.

The food intake has drastically reduced

Has anyone gone through something  similar?

    ultrasound report

    Impression-

Liver shows diffuse heterogenous echo texture, Solid nodules in liver as described above.

    Splenomegaly

    Significant ascites noted.

Based on the above reports our local oncologist is recommending Erbitux only chemo not advised due to liver values. Fortnightly Erbitux treatment each dose 900 mg for a period of 2 months.

    Erbitux

I never had experience with SIRT but I did go on erbitux for a year with excellent results and shrinkage and a normal CEA...I tolerated it very well. Just make sure to have you Onc put you on Doxycycline for the rash. Goos luck to you!!
