Hi there,  I'm so relieved as I just had my first pet scan last week.  Everything is good.  I'm NED!  Yay....

I'm still hurting while going #2.  It's still so painful.  I still go #2 at least 4-5 times a day.  I've changed my diet

so I'm not eating salad's, fresh fruit, etc its just so frustrating.  is there anything they can do to make is less painful?

thanks!!

Congratulations on your great scan results!  For the pain, try applying some lidocaine to your anal area prior to a BM--it has a numbing effect.  Also, to reduce frequency of BM's, you might try taking Imodium daily--it is okay to do this, as per my radiation oncologist.  I would suggest starting with 1/2 tablet first to see what kind of results you get.  You do not want to become constipated.

thanks martha.  Yea, I think I will try that.  I know I've been constipated and it hurts so bad.  So I'll have to try it conservatively until I get the right amount.

    Thx

    Hi there...
    thanks.  I will

    Hi there...

thanks.  I will try that for sure.  I'm scheduled in a few weeks for the scope with my colorectal doctor.  I'm so afraid it's going to hurt. Can you shed any light on that?  It sounds like both you and I were really burned down there.  I just want painless bm's. Whaaaa!!!!

    Hi.

I know how you feel, I will have one next week, and will be only 5 weeks outside of treatment and am concerned about pain.  I've been relatively pain free, BM's included and would like it to stay that way.  I go alot, 4-5 but they are well formed and so I just do what I've been doing.  I have more problems with urgency, so I hang around the house.  This may sound risky, but I also try not to wear underpants under my long skirts.  It feels better and I think it has helped with my skin healing very quickly.  I have to drive myself to the Doctor so pain meds are out of the question.  I may call their office to see if there is anything I can do about it, or what they would recommend.  When I go out, I do wear underwear, but only occasionally pads, unlike the previous weeks.  I find them irritating and my labia is still swollen and I've had minor skin fusing.   My Surgeon will have to listen to me swear, yell, and whimper, just like my OBGYN did a couple of weeks ago.  If I didnt have to go for another reason I would wait longer, but my insurance is bad so I have to make my appointments count these days.  Its good to hear your scan went well.
