Hello everyone, I am new here and looking for others that have the GCT Ovarian Cancer - it is a rare kind from what I have been told and I am wondering about remission stats, NED stats, as I have been told that I will NEVER be cured because of the Microscopic Cells that will always return in other organs at some time...Anyone out there?? I was diagnosed April 20th and also had a second opinion just to be positive - I am Stage 3B and have had laproscopic surgery to remove my ovaries and fallopion tubes and some scar tissue that was also involved...

    DeniB, welcome and please

DeniB, welcome and please don't read the stats.  I am a visitor from the uterine board.  The OC woman are wonderful and may be able to help.

    no "cure" for me either

I just know that I have stage IV OC. When I was diagnosed in 2009 my Dr. told me I was not "curable" but "treatable". After 6 months chemo, then a hysterectomy and all the other good things that go with that, another 6 months of chemo. PET scan after all that was NED! Follow up scans were NED until May 2014, microscopic cancer showing up in my abdomen. Chemo June - October, and PET scan was NED.  I have put off requests for a followup scan, since all I wanted this year was to make the "rescheduled" 1200 mile roadtrip to see my kids, grandkids, old friends & relatives.....which I di and had a blast! I haven't seen my onc. since May, but in 2 more days I have an appointment and it it time to come back to reality again. Yes......I'll agree to scan, provided they can work with me on my $275 Medicare co-pay.......yes, I'm scared............yes, I've been suffering from "scanitis" for the last week.............I want to know if I'm NED.......if I'm not, I'm really not sure if I'll do another round of chemo............the last one was really rough, put me in the hospital twice.......still dealing with neuropathy, tried cutting down on the pain killers but ended up even worse.  Hang in there............we all have decisions to make regarding this nasty nasty nasty disease...........
