Hello Everyone,

I am new here as my husband was just diagnosed with Liver cancer by an EUS. They are still not sure where it originally came from, so I guess of coarse more testing. His labs came back negative except for Pancreas which looked clear in the EUS. And when he had the Abdomen CT Scan with contrast, they said his liver looked "strange" and ordered the EUS. I am just really confused.

He had a coloonoscopy about a year ago with a polyp taken out and it was benign. But he said he didn't feel right after the colonoscopy. Now he has lost weight past 4 months but he looks so skinny, his limbs and neck, look like they have atrophied. He has ascites, had fluid removed and is going back a week later to have more removed.

We are seeing a medical, hematologist oncologist on Friday. He will be talking to his PCP sometime today, should he go ahead and ask for a PET to be ordered, should we wait to talk with the oncologist. I have some questions we want to ask but please, if anyone has anything to add or suggest we are listening. Thank you so much!

Mj

    PluerX Catheter

Since your husband has fluid drained at the hospital, he should ask about PluerX. I have one and my husband helps me drain the fluid at home. I will warn you that I was awake for the surgery and it was extremely painful sitting up for the first 48-72 hours. The good news is that the pain was bearable when I did not use mt abdominal muscles. It is great that I no longer have to go to the hospital to get it done though. After getting my PluerX, we drained 18 liters of fluid from my stomach in 3 weeks. I felt much better after that!

Prayers and best wishes to you and your husband,

    Amy
