OK, so, 7 months post-treatment, I'm seeing a gel-like substance on the toilet papar....What the heck??? I'm telling myself it's scar tissue dissolving and leaving my body, but I just dreamed that up with no rational basis what-so-ever.  Anyone else have something similar or an actual explanation?

I'm 2 years post treatment and I still get that. It's part of the radiation side effects. When I have "accidents" that is what  it is. I was told because the radiation inflames that area that's why there is mucus.

This has happened to me before and it always freaks me out, even though I know it's related to the proctitis that I suffer from.  I think it becomes part of the norm for some of us, but I would advise you to mention it to your doctor at your next follow-up.

I also, had occasionall mucus discharge for the first two years post treatment.  After two years I did not notice any discharge.  I am now 6 plus years post treatment.

HELLO ,  I THINK THAT IT IS ABOUT WHITES CAUSED BY THE IRRITATION OF THE MUCOUS MEMBRANE AFTER THE RADIOTHERAPY. I HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A FEW WEEKS AFTER THE END OF MY TREATMENT AND IT BECAME BLURRET OVER TIME.  TO DAY THREE YEARS AFTER THE END OF MY TREATMENT I HAVE STILL SOMETIMES SOME BLEEDING CAUSED BY GOING TO THE TOILET;   gOOD DAY TO YOU Smile

June!  We had a woman on here

June!  We had a woman on here some time back that referred to the mucus as 'whale snot' LOL!  Had forgotten that....  I still have the mucus discharge occasionally at three years post tx.  The biggest problem from that is that it is sneaky and can cause a sore bottom, by chapping..

I remember having that for the first couple years after treatment.  5 1/2 years now and I still have some bleeding.  Radiation was powerful and the area was damaged.  I know its scary but from all I've been told it is not uncommon.
