    Happy New Year to everyone

    I too am happy to see another new year.   It is 6 years ago In January that I had my surgery.   Tomorrow I go for the CAT scan to see what effect the SBRT had on my paratracheal lymph node.  I will also have a CA-125 drawn.  I won't see the doctor until the 13 th, so the waiting continues.  I am hoping for another big drop in the CA-125.   

    The radiation onocologist said it could be 3 to 6 months before a change is noticed.  I still have a cough especially at night.  I don't know if that means the cough will last that long.  I had to get refills for my cough pill and cough syrup.  I tried to not take the codiene cough syrup one night, but the coughing kept waking me up.   I had to get up and take the cough syrup.  I do not like taking medicine if I can avoid it.  If you looked at my pill box, you would not believe I don't like to take pills.

    I hope everyone has a healthy new year.  In peace and caring.

    I had bronchitis once and took meds for it, but I still kept getting the cough.  It turned out to be from gastroesophageal reflux.  I noticed you said yours happens at night.  Mine was always worse when I was flat on my back.  I know yours probably isn't from this, but if it doesn't get better, you might think about whether it could be due to another diagnosis.  I used to take Dexilant for mine, but then my insurance stopped paying for that.  Now I take 40 mg. of Omeprazole, plus I have a foam wedge mattress cover to elevate my head.  I rarely get it any more.

    Belated Happy New Year, ladies

    Belated Happy New Year, ladies.  I, too, am glad to see another one. 

    I have an MRI scan booked for the 14th Jan to see if the Cyberknife radiotherapy has had any effect on the tumour on my pelvic sidewall.  I will get the results at my onco appt. on 28th Jan.  Like Ro, I was told that the effect of the treatment could be slow, so not to expect it to be gone.  We are looking for stable disease or slight shrinkage. The mass will never completely disappear as the tumour is mixed up with scar tissue, which will always make it difficult to determine whether we have a complete response or not. Only time will tell.  But, for now, I am pain free and that's a huge plus!
