Getting Personal with family and others

Hello. My name is taylor and im a 28 year old male with gbm brain tumor and will die sooner rather than later. i can understand this and i know its real and what is coming my way. What i cannot understand is how people are scared to get close to me just because they know of my current situation. ive had several women who have fallen in love and a month later they leave with my cancer as the excuse. Not only do i find that selfish but i believe it shows how shallow these people have been. I also understand it might be selfish for me to try and get close to someone knowing im a "grenade" waiting to explode a painful goodbye. what are your guys opinions on the subject? am i wrong in wanting a bestfriend to hold my hand and tell me it will all be ok though i know the truth?

    Taylor, First and foremost I'm sorry you have to be here but you have come to the right place. This site is one of the best overall and there are a few other bona fide ones. To answer your questions I would strongly recommend you to visit chatroom later in the evenings 9:00 pm central or so.There's a variety of people that are survivors and caregivers with a great wealth of experience and would be more than happy to guide you on your journey. As far as being selfish on your wants I personally think not. Feel free to ask here on this discussion board and members will chime in,but chat is more fun and your questions get answers right away.
