Hi all! Prayer Request

Hi all:

Got back from Chatt/Nash. on Wed.  Was not uneventful trip however!  My best friend and I were going to Nash. in her van as we were supposed to bring some furniture back for another friend's daughter who's moving back home for awhile to go to school.  Well, when I got to her house on Monday morning since the van had been making a squeaking noise; her husband had taken it down to their mechanic and he said just a shield thingy out of place; so we loaded up the van and drove around the block to check it out; still squeaking; so her hubby takes it back down to the mechanic after we unload the van and load up my car.  Go get my car gassed up and check back by mechanic; says okay now good to go; so back to her house unload my car; reload her car and we finally take off.  We get on interstate and it's raining, hot, humid and muggy while we sit still on interstate for 45 minutes due to jackknifed truck up ahead.  After that get going and get to Nashville and miss the turn to our friend's house but turn around and when Beki makes hard rite really hear the squeak and hard for her to turn for a minute; but we get on to our destination; go in and greet everybody and I go out to get our things out of the van and I notice a big spot under the van and think to myself,"That's too much to just be the air conditioning;" so I get down on my knees and touch the liquid which looks pinky on my fingers and is greasy!  Definitely not air conditioning water!  Come back in and tell Beki and she moves car to road and she's lost power steering; so we go to lunch with girls; come back by Pep Boys and get quart of power steering fluid; get back to friend's house put the fluid in after we've called Goodyear which is .3 mile from our friend's house and tell them we're coming in.  By the time we got there fluid we put in had all run out!  So they call her back and tell her it's going to be $700 repair which includes new pump, new hose, two belts replaced and a front end alignment!  She opts for just pump and hose to get us back to Chatt. next day which turns out to be $576!  Very eventful indeed.  Her hubby Steve thoroughly enjoyed his birthday party Sat. nite and just looks great and is eating well now!  He goes for MRI this Friday and a pet sometime in August.  Thanks for prayers and continued prayers.

New prayer request is nephew, Brian (the one hit by car three years ago this Labor Day).  He has pneumonia and can't swallow right now and was taken to hospital yesterday for MRI; not sure of what.  He's been a beanpole all his life and in the last two years has gained to about 185 pounds +.  I saw him on Wed. before I came home and he looked pretty rough.  Still has sense of humor.  He was 41 last Sat.  Please keep him and his mom in your prayers.

Mine and Charlie's birthday is tomorrow the 27th!  Will be putting flowers in church in honor/memory of Charlie and then will go to dinner with friends to Provino's for birthday dinner.  These friends and Charlie and I always got together to go eat at Provino's for our birthdays and in Dec/Jan for their birthdays.  So we've just kept it up!  Went to free concert on square last nite with same friends and heard an 80's band.  They were good; I think I was becoming more of country music fan in the 80's though but was lovely evening and it's fun to go sit under the stars and visit and eat of course.  They do this the last Friday in May-Sept.  Next month it's a Jimmy Buffet band that's been together for 30 years; so we're really looking forward to that!

Guess that about catches everything up for now.  Hope everyone is doing well. God Bless and Stay Cool!  It's really hot here in Georgia!

Hi Jan,  I hope you are doing well, besides the van breaking down and loading and unloading furniture all day. My wife Connie is still doing good and "life is good". I hope your nephew gets better. Talk to you soon, Homer & Connie
