side effects of erbitux

in Head and Neck Cancer #1

Hi guys

Only two more days of radiation and done and 4 weeks of erbitux.Anyway over the last week or so started to get what I thought was acne on the back of my neck.But seems that my trach coller has rubbed it.My speach specialist looked at it and took a pic of and went and seen the nurse that works in the wound division and she thought it looked alot like some kind of fungus that she has seen on arms and legs.But didn't know what effects radiation or erbitus are.Wondering if maybe it part of the drug plus radiation cooking it?Has this happened to anyone and what have they used on it?

    One of the side effects is a rash. I would recommend seeing your medical oncolgist.

    This is more like acne that

    This is more like acne that changed into small sores and not a rash.I just spoke to my speach specialist and her one patient had the same thing.She was told to make sure the area is very clean without any lotion on it before radiation.To late here I have been using lotion the week or so.

    Side effects...

    Hopefully CivilMatt will come through here soon.  I think he had that drug.  I do remember people talking on here that they got sores that resembled acne and also the rash.

    lotion

    Hi Mate, seen a lot about that side effect i.e. Acne in UK. The only lotion the team here will let you use is aqueous creme which they say does not react but needs to be well rubbed in. Regards, G

    You will read both are common terms used to describe the Erbitux skin issues.

    My side effect was acne on my face and a rash like skin issues on my trunk.  Really nothing on the arms on legs.   The rash on my trunk were much much smaller ands they were all over my stomach and back.  

    i I used a prescription  lotion w and antibiotic on my face and a water based lotion on my body.    Again, both were pretty much cleared up before I finished the 7 weeks of treatment.

    So does your missus by the way! Must both be happy! Just plugged into cisplatin as we speak. Day 2 week 3. Being served 3 course meal . Yummy. Only sore throat so far. Don't forget the soccer world cup imminent!
