I'll try and post the speakers/topics soon. It will be from 8am-2pm at the following location:

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
Harvey Morse Conference Center

If you message me privately, I'll send you a picture of the agenda via email if you like.

It includes speakers from Cedars Sinai like Dr. Figlin, and from UCLA, USC, Kaiser and from City of Hope, like Dr. Pal.

The event is going to happen

There's no question the event is scheduled. I was at Cedars yesterday at a Kidney Cancer support group, and Dr. Figlin's nurse handed out the flyers. It's a KCA event. So go ahead and plan if you would like to attend. I'm definitely planning to be there.

    San Diego?

Sure. We can have coffee after. They are serving breakfast and lunch.

What's happening in San Diego? I did not know there was an event there. Can you point me to it?

    Thanks,

    Todd

    Announcement Section Update

I've just submitted an announcement with an image of the flyer. I don't think it will show up until approved. If you're interested in this event, go to the announcements section and hopefully the flyer will be there. You can also go to www.kidneycancer.org, but there is minimal info there at this point. The flyer has the full agenda on it.

If there's some issue getting the flyer on the website here, (please wait a couple of days to give them time to approve the posting), and if it's not up, you can message me your email and I'll email you a copy of the PDF of the flyer.

    Agenda -

I posted a follow-up in the announcement section and attached an image of the flyer, but the image doesn't show up.

Hopefully the KCA website will have more details and a way to sign up. The flyer I have says the conference is free and open to all patients, survivors and family and to sign up via www.kidneycancer.org.

I'll briefly list the topics and speakers here, but not all the times. I'm too lazy to type all that!

Welcome - Dr. Robert Figlin (Cedars)

Role of KCA - Carolyn Konosky (MBA, KCA)

What is the optimal surgical approach for my upcoming kidney cancer surgery? - Dr. Hyung Kim (Cedars)

How can the pathology report help direct my treatment options? - Dr. Daniel Luthringer (Cedars)

What is the best way I can care for myself while living with cancer? - Matthew Loscalzo, LCSW (City of Hope)

What is the standard of care for kidney cancer that has spread? - Dr. David Hoffman (Cedars)

Are there new techniques in radiation therapy that offer me treatment options? - Dr. Behrooz Hakimian (Cedars)

Is my kidney cancer genetic and are members of my family at risk? - Dr. Ora Gordon (Cedars)

Should I receive adjuvant therapy after surgery even if the cancer hasn't spread? - Dr. David Quinn, PHD (USC Keck School of Medicine)

Are vaccines and novel immunotherapies promising in the treatment of kidney cancer? - Dr. Sumata Pal (City of Hope)

How do I manage the side effects of the treatments that I'm taking? - Nancy Moldawer, RN, MSN (Cedars)

Can research cure kidney cancer? - Dr. Robert Figlin (Cedars)

All Cedars representatives are with the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute and City of Hope representatives are with the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.

I hope this information helps anyone in the area thinking of attending. Please excuse errors/typos.
