Monday should be interesting!

in Head and Neck Cancer #1

Monday, 10/21, is my 4 month cancer free date.  It's also my next big dental appointment where I get my crown, final fitting (and hopefully get to keep) my partial, and schedule my cavities to be filled.  Then the dental work is over...hopefullly by the end of 2013 :)  Basically...I may have my TEETH Monday!  I'm so excited!!  I don't have any teeth on my lower left side and it's very, very noticable.  Most people watch my mouth when I talk.  It doesn't bother me so much..I'm thankful to be alive and well, but the man did a GREAT job making them and I'll post a before and after if I get to keep them Monday.  He's been working on them for almost 2 months.  I have nothing for them to "rest" on..I have no jaw, gums, nothing!  He's a genius and I can't wait to be able to show them off!

 

Hope you all are well, prayers go up for EVERYONE on CSN each day!!

    reading your post, I just got so excited for you....so many times we don't REALLY know what our compadres on this site are living with.  I can hardly wait to see the new you Smile.  I'm feeling your excitement all the way across the country.....WONDERFUL!!

    Speaking of the Dentist

    OK - I probably should go - its been a few years.  (I do make my son go though!) 

    Hondo, is there anything that needs to be done differently when you don't eat - anything other than brushing and flossing?

    Boy if I saw a map of the different routes we each take it would blow my mind (my mental map is complicated enough).

    If I meet you I promise to look in your eyes (girls have a hard time as it is).

    and feel myself getting excited over your new teeth.....hope they fit perfectly....but if they don't, the adjustments will be minor and you'll be sporting new, comfortable chompers soon.  Oooooo yeah!!! Laughing

    Happy for you, hope your new teeth are all you hoped for. I recall how excited I was to get my partial after tx. I went to the dentist last week and since my last visit in May, I have more cavities than I can believe...nearly every tooth and some teeth have 2 cavities. That all happened in the last 5 months. They said due to lack of saliva. I start the process of fillings this week.

    Well darn...

    7-10 more days until I get my partial.  I got my post put in my tooth and the temporary crown put on today.  I go back and get the permanent one in a week or so and then my final fitting and TEETH!  So just a little longer....

    to those that wait, I went a whole year without teeth, it was embarassing at times, but, I decided I wasn't missing out on events for something that was out of my control...now, I have beautiful,white teeth and everyone tells me they look really natural. Can't wait to see your new beauties
