Maine scientists are celebrating what's being described as potentially "an incredible breakthrough" in cancer treatment. Researchers at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor have identified a molecule that can cause cancer cells to self-destruct. The research, published in the The Journal of Experimental Medicine, could eventually mean more effective treatment for cancer patients, with significantly fewer side effects than traditional chemotherapy. Maine Things Considered host Tom Porter talks with Jackson Lab's Dr. Kevin Mills, who led the study.
