    Welcome
Welcome to the board and so sorry for you having to be here.
I had a lumpectomy in July and it's not as bad as expected. My advice is to do your homework know what to expect and don't push yourself to do to much afterward. It will take about a week before you will be to get back to your normal routine so if you have family and friends willing to help out let them. Has your doctor talked to you yet about course of treatment once surgery is done ( chemo, radation etc)
I know how scared and confused you must feel right now it has to be one of the most terrible feeling that no one else can truly understand unless they have gone through it. Just know that this board is filled with wonderful strong and supportive women who will be here for your during your journey.
Best if luck with your surgery next week, please let us know how you make out.
    Hugs Christine

    Welcome
Sorry you have to be here, but you came to the right place. Feel free to ask any questions. There's a lot of ladies (and men) that have a wealth of experience and information about this awful disease. I wish I had found this place when I was first diagnosed. I think the most important thing I learned was that you have to advocate for yourself. Don't be afraid to change docs if you're not comfortable with the ones you have. And don't forget to breathe! I know it's a scary time. Once you know everything you have to do to get rid of this beast you'll feel in more control.

    Good luck with your surgery.
