I wish I had an answer for you. I know at my surgeons office they see several patients with them. I go on Friday and I will ask for a web site or something. My surgeon is with USC H&N group, not sure where you live?

    I know very little
about voice boxes but was at a SPHONC group meeting just last Wednesday. First meeting of our season. We don't meet in the summers. There was a fellow there with an electronic voice box as well as a handheld device which he lay-ed on the table. It was his first time at our group. He was there with his wife which tells you right away something is out of the ordinary. He is on his seventh year survival. I am purely speculating but assume they can implant one in your throat somehow????????????????????????????Big speculation, someone with real knowledge will be along shortly. Now I don't know how he turned the prosthetic off but he picked up the hand held and carried on a conversation with it. The prosthetic was clearly a better option. He then started relating the difficulties of fighting with insurance companies when they can't understand a damn thing you are saying with a voice box over the phone. I think your life will suckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk in the near future but he is alive 7 years post?????? We then veered into a totally 30 min discussion on the woes of insurance companies.
