The power of prayer!

Last Sunday, there was a repeat of a 1994 Oprah show. The topic was an interview with Dr. Larry Dossey. He wrote "Healing Words". As part of his study, they had two petry dishes with bacteria. One was prayed over and one was not. In the one that was prayed over, the bacteria grew much faster. He also studied 200 heart patients and the results were significantly better in the prayed for group. It was a blind study. Very interesting! Let's keep the prayers coming.

    Though I am forgetful
When on this website I will pray for the person as I am typing my reply. If I don't pray then I will forget by bedtime. On those instances when I do remember to pray again I still have a hard time remembering all the facts so I say "God you know who I prayed for earlier today on CSN and what I prayed about. Just ditto that please since my memory is lousy." I beleive he honors such prayers as it is the effort to leave these issues in his hands that counts more than the remembering of all those details.

    I'm with you
on the minutes someone asks for prayer (and sometimes doesn't ask), I pray right then and there. I believe God knows our hearts and honors prayer. Stirred concern and compassion from one's heart to pray is such a beautiful and I believe, very powerful action.

Praying for all my CSN sisters and brothers now!

    Well I pray everyday
Well I pray everyday generally anyway, just for family, friends and whatever. I guess I pray for specific things, but I just pray that HIS will be done. If the cancer comes back...so be it...if it doesn't...so be it. I don't think I pray "desparately" for anything. I don't believe that this life is all there is, to me this life is a journey, not a destination.

    Prayer is VERY powerful. As
Prayer is VERY powerful. As long as I keep it in check, I never pray for myself unless it's in order to help someone else. I ask my higher power whom I choose to call God, every day for the strength to carry on and do his will to the best of my ability. I'm usually an "at the moment I see prayer is needed" type of gal, because I will forget, chemo brain, age, I don't know, I just get it done when I see one of my warriors needs it. Of course I pray for our whole group and their loved ones in bulk every time I pray.

    I pray alot
I pray alot.More so now for all of us with this dreaded disease and when things aren't going good.Life can get to be a rush and seem like no time for myself. My husband works alot but soon will be retiring. We'll take a break and then decide what we want to do.He wants to travel some but we've always been homebodies. It will be different.

All my life I've had medical problems.Prayed and things got better. The prayers are short and sweet but I always say one.Just this week my cat was missing. She always comes home(only cat that leaves the yard). When I went somewhere I prayed when "I pull in the driveway she will be there".For 4 days she wasn't.Told my friend she was missing and she said she would pray. That night I left.Didn't say my prayer but had said one all week.Well pulling in the drive there she was waiting. She knew I would be home soon.I know this is a small thing but it works for bigger things also.Power of Prayer works.

So if it's something small or big take the time to Pray.It usually works.just this week with the other things going on I had a cancer scare.Right breast this time.A ultrasound was scheduled for Monday.I get there. The nice doctor said I want a mammo done also.I won't do just a ultrasound. He got the order from my oncologist. All things were normal but I said a prayer in the room as I waited. Also met a young mother who was having some extra tests(something was found)I said a prayer for her and told the X ray tech I hope things go OK for the young lady.

These are simple little prayers but they mean alot and most of the time work.

    My daughter....
I had prayer answered today....I've been estranged from my daughter since November last year....today I came home from the hospital after having more saline insertered for my breast reconstruction, and there was a long email from her, asking if I'd be interested in reconciling.....there was a lot of pain in her letter and she acknowledged that I had a lot of pain too....but would I be interested in starting again. I said...I'm game if you are....!!! We exchanged a few more emails and I've just come off the phone from a 2 1/2 hour conversation with her !! Nothing too deep and ...lovey dovey...Just general catching up about our lives...I think it went well.

I think the future of our relationship looks good.

Oh, and she doesn't believe in prayer...she's an atheist...but I'm a Christian, so prayer is important to me. LOL

    Pray????
Dear God do I pray!!! (no pun intended - LOL). I pray all the time. I pray for all of us on the board - even when I'm not on for awhile, and for all our sisters who have not found us yet. I pray for my family, Andie's family, all my friends, our country and our world. Some days I pray ad-nausea but I feel God will forgive my going on and on. I try to listen so I know what the next right thing is. Sometimes I do that better than other times. I never doubt that God is there in some form, listening to me and loving me - even when I couldn't breathe from the chemo. Since I couldn't sleep because I coughed all the time, I would just be there in the dark, feeling that Divine Presence and I was so very grateful for it.

    I pray for each person
I pray for each person individually As I reply and as a group before I leave the site. Don't want to miss any one. I believe in prayer and I do it every day. I know when I get a lot of prayer I feel better quicker. I know it works and he does listen.
