What's a good immune system builder...??

Okay ...I'm looking for a good immune system builder and I konw many of you have your opinions and links ....can you share some of those links or products so I can get rid of Ensure and Vita-water ...too expensive, too much sugar and a bit fru-fru for me.

Dan (tonsil dad) ...I hear you got some opinions on alternative things ....I'm open if I can read up on them ...

    Try Orgain, it is a protein
    Try Orgain, it is a protein drink made with organic vegetable and it has less sugar than Ensure. Amazon and Wholefood sell it but it costs a little more than Ensure.

    Supplements - Disclaimer....
    Tim, I know you are post treatment, but did want to throw this out there for some that are still being treated...or even those post treatment, but still with blood ranges that might be out of range, or for that matter, just as a general thought.

    Most MD's either don't recommend taking supplements without running it through them first.

    So as a disclaimer, I thought I would throw out there to make sure you check with your MD's first if applicable.

    I am in no way against them, just throwing it out there as a suggestion.

    Uneducated...
    I am rather uneducated to the extent, and specific's... I do see where Tonsil Dad hit on the topic in one of his posts.

    I'm pretty much of the thought, that most healthy people that eat healthy, get enough nutrients from their intake.

    But as you and anyone here know, most on here, especially fairly recent from treatment, or being treated, aren't eating healthy.

    And I did say most MD's, I should have said, "my MD's". But I have seen others on here that mentioned the same or similar.

    I just would like to mention one thing,
    yes I do mention a lot about alternative meds but I
    would never tell anyone to take what I take without
    first asking there Drs. Always consult with them when
    taking any Non prescript meds. Also if and when I send
    info to people look it up and do some research on the
    product and educate yourself and show your Dr.
    And by the way the product I take ( all through treatment)
    is in your Dr's PDR (Their bible on drugs) but they will
    not let you know anything about it cause it's all natural
    and they don't make any "MONEY" on it.

    make a "DRUG" to make the immune system fight it. We have the "NATURAL"

    Hey Tim,
    I'm dealing with this issue too. Never liked ENSURE...but am using BOOST. Some insurance carriers will pay for this if properly written up by Dr. I had 6 lymph nodes removed, did a portion of rad., and all my teeth pulled. Did get dentures but..yeah they don't work for eating. Also finding cool reciepes to use....Also I try to get outside once a day...do cover up for sun exposure..I'm not saying don't use alternatives...tons out there and do work for some. But please be careful...some are way more exspensive than Boost ! Been there doing it ! Good luck ! Katie

It is scientifically proven that juice from fresh fruits in vegetables is the best immune booster as the enzyems and nutrients are not killed do to oxidation and heat. Cheri Calbon, not sure about spelling, has some great recipies and she was a former dietician for Mayo Clinic cancer center, has written and co-authored several books on juicing. There is a great testamony in the book "The Complete Cancer Cure" she co-authored. I checked it out of the library when Jim was diagnosed. Just google "Juice Lady" and you will find some information.
