Great news!

The radiation oncologist who did all the mapping for my treatments used a scope to check out my whole nose, throat and oral cavity. Not only do my lymph nodes feel normal... but there is no longer any visible sign of cancer anywhere in my throat, tonsils or soft palate!

He said HPV-related throat cancers usually respond well during treatment and can sometimes disappear around day 30 or day 25 at the earliest. But mine was very large (Stage IV), very aggressive, and very invasive... and I'm only on day 21 of treatment!

My blood work was also still all normal at chemo, which the nurse said is unusual but great.

So these are my lights at the end of the tunnel that I'll use to keep me going through the next 4-6 weeks. I'm glad treatment continues because I know there are microscopic cancer cells still lurking and I want each and every one of them DEAD.

I know it's going to get rougher from here, so it's nice to have those lights... along with everyone here who is so important for keeping me centered and sane.

THANK YOU to everyone in this group!

    Woot Woot...
    Congrats....

I was STGII SCC Tonsils HPV+ with a swollen lymphnode as a secondary. It also "disappeared" around week six of the nine weeks of initial chemo.

    This is wonderful!!!
To have something visible....something concrete that says "I am getting better" has to be one of those great experiences....

Certainly worth a dance around the kitchen.........
