edited May 2012 in Colorectal Cancer #1
Today in COMM1 class I gave my first speech on the NEED for those turning 50 Colorectal Cancer TESTING to a bunch of 18 to 20 something year olds, in this speech, I was speaking to them about their parents, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents need when they turn 50 for colonoscopy testing.
My reward were all the notes about how they were going to take up my suggestions and talk to them about colonoscopy testing for their parents and making sure they got it.
How wonderful is that? Wow, what a feeling of accomplishment, to make more people aware they can save themselves or loved ones. I got 130 out of 130 points, people loved the humor, the seriousness and the need to get their loved ones tested.
Just had to share.

    Great
At their age that is the furthest thing from their mind. Keep it up.

    The greatest part
of it, is that they're going home to talk to their parents about why their parents need to have a colonoscopy, apparently several are 50 right now and I loved these kids determination to go home and have a discussion with their parents about having the screening. One of my themes was that "tell them you love them so much that you are willing to discuss them getting a colonoscopy"
