Happy Easter!

In the spirit of the holiday, believe in renewal and healing. I have been blessed in so many ways, as I have go through this journey of adjusting to the new me. I wish all here on CSN, strength, wisdom, and courage to continue the fight, and NOT give in to the beast. I have become a better, stronger, compassionate, spiritual and a more understanding person going thru this fight. I am a survivor, and will continue to live my life to the fullest, ignoring negativity and encouraging others to BELIEVE! I face surgery to remove a spot in my neck on Monday. I am going in confident in my faith, and the doctors that I again will move past this. Yes, I am full side effects, but I am here, loving my children, family and friends, and giving to others. I am not the person I once was, and looking back, I see I am an even better person. Sounds unbelievable, but I know some of you understand what I mean. My only request is that you say a little prayer for me, as I go in on Monday at 10am, for surgery and that all goes well. I pray nightly for all of you. No - this life is not fair, but it is a fact. We can get through this together. I am grateful for all the advice, info, sympathy, and support I have received here over the last 4 years. (Wow - 4 years!) I have become me - the new abi-normal, but very happy and content with the hand I have been dealt. May God bless you all, and answer the prayers you have in your heart. He knows them.
Love & Prayers, Patty

    Hi Dan & Happy Easter!
Thank you for your beautiful post, and the prayers heading my way! His hand has been upon me from the beginning, and once I realized I could not do this alone, and gave it up to Him, my faith increased, and my life was changed. I love your "Keep Calm and Carry On" insignia. I have to keep reminding myself of that! :)
God bless & heal you Dan!

    Hi phrannie
Yes, I have read your posts, and you have been through sooo much. I am glad you found some comfort in my post. I found there is no use in getting worked up, although nerves do get edgey before a scan. FEAR will paralyze you, and be detrimental. (False Evidence Appearing Real) I try not to let my mind start making up scenarios. Having a mantra helps - "I can do all things through Christ" or "Keep Calm and Carry On" find one that works for you, and when those thoughts hit,say yours over & over to chase the negative thoughts away. You will get through the tunnel phrannie - I have read your posts. You are strong! Thank you for the prayers, as you are in mine. I wish you healing this Easter. God bless you!

I appreciate your prayers and faith my friend! You are always in my prayers as you were one of the first to reach out to me in the beginning when I was a mess, filled with pity, fear and self-doubt! May God bless you and yours this Easter and always!

My Prayers are with you as you go into Surgery today
I am now 2 weeks out of Radiation and Chemo. I know what you mean, totally, when you say you have come out of this a more compassionate, understanding and spiritual person.

I pray that your surgery goes well and your recovery is speedy and comfortable. One thing I realized when going through the therapies, don't get behind on your pain medications. I hate taking drugs, but they allow you to heal. My cancer was on the back of my tongue and neck Lymph Nodes. I had a very hard time (and still do)in taking medication pills, I found that much of the pain medications can be prescibed in liquid form. What a GOD SENT that was!

Let us know how the surgery went when you can.

Wow - you have a tough one with the tongue & lymph nodes, but you know you will get through this! We learn as we go by asking questions, and not taking no for an answer. Glad you were able to get the meds in liquid form! That is a God send! Thanks for the prayers, as I will keep you in mine. The body takes time to heal, but if the spirit is strong, and the mind is positive, as yours is - you will beat this! God bless you!

    Hi Hawk711
Yes - it went well, thanks to all the prayers, and positive thoughts from my CSN Family! They went in and had to straighten the septum to get to the spot that was to be biopsied. They took a biopsy, froze it and sent it to the lab while I was on the table. The lab checked it to see if they needed more, and that they got it all. Than reported back. Amazing! It was a long day,and I go back tomorrow to remove the packing. I must say it has not been too bad, and the pain is good 24 hours later. I am blessed! Praying that the biopsy comes back negative, and I can at least have 6 months between my scans. Thank you for your concern Steve.

I appreciate every ones' posts, and want you to know YOU got me through! May God bless each and everyone of you in your battle, and as caregivers - your difficult job caring for someone you love in the battle. Just keep believing, and don't give up! Thank you!
    Love & Prayers
