    I've had a similar situation
Diagnosed with mouth cancer that spread to my neck. Had some surgeries last year and then chemo and radiation last summer. Three months later in November 2011 it spread to my right lung, had 30% of it removed and now almost done with my second round of chemo (Thursday!). PET scan this Wednesday. Not going to lie, terrified to see if it has spread again to my lungs.

Hoping the best for you and your husband.

    Welcome
Welcome Salemsue, and good to see you Sonya.

It sounds like both your husband Sue, and you Sonya have had the most effective courses of treatment. Unfortunately, as is often repeated here, cancer does what it wants. Mets to lungs is not uncommon a spread spot for H&N and a good number of people here on the board have been where you are anc come out of the healthy side. With surgery and chemo Sue, you have good reason to hope for a positve outcome. Mets to the lungs is a progression that doctors are familiar with and they have the tools and knowhow to combat it. Hang in, keep
hope, and very best of luck on your scan Sonya.

If yo haven't seen it. The below link was created by one of our H&N survivors, Sweetblood, and contains a wealth of info on all things H&N related, including many links to threads on this board.

    Welcome Sue
Definitely a scary time, trying to stay positive will help you and your hubby tremendously during treatment.

Both you and hubby, Sonja and your familes are in my thoughts and prayers for successful treatments and recovery.

    Hi Sue

I too welcome you to the family here. I had NPC cancer three times the second and third times in spread into the neck only. I have been having problems with the Lungs but it is mostly from aspiration. Don’t give up; fight it again and again if that is what it takes to get rid of the nasty stuff. I have a lot of side effects from all the treatments but I am still here and still able to live a good life.

God bless and take care of you both
