I am sitting in the hospital to have my leg looked for what i am almost certain is a DVT (blood clot). I had them im both arms last time i was in treatment 4 years ago but that was telated to my port. This damn disease and the treatments can be so discouraging. The only pain i have experienced in the past 6+ years has been related to the treatments not the disease.

    sorry - what a pain
I totally agree. This is a crap disease. Hope it isn't a blood clot, but smart to have it checked. It's always easier to wait too long to see if something gets better on it's own, which isn't so good.
Take care. Be careful going home.

    Feel so sorry .
I agree with you , never had a single symptom due to cancer , all I ever had were problems and pain due to chemo.
Hope you feel better very soon .
    Hugs!

PICC lines, IVs and ports can all cause clots, and the clots
can show up anyplace, not just in the area of the IV line.

I had one in my left leg, a few months later in my right leg,
    and one in my left forearm. I never did chemo or radiation;
the clots were due to the PICC line. In all cases so far, the
herbs my TCM doc gave me to take dissolved the clot within
the same day that I took the herbal capsules.

The first time, my GP and surgeon wanted me to take clot
buster drugs and have that "umbrella" device inserted in my
artery..... It's nice to know there's a better way than that!

    Best wishes,

    John

Thanks for the info. The second blood clot went into my jugular vein so i ended up in ICU on heparin and thry did an angioplasty. This time and the first time they sent me home with lovinox and coumadin. I hate doing the lovinox shots.

    John I had the "umbrella
John I had the "umbrella device" put in for the surgery I had, after surgery they removed it. I think some people have it in for a number of years, but there are a lot of risks associated with them, like, they can move out of place!!! Yikes.
