Keeps me fighting

I became a first time grandpa on Feb 10th to a grandbaby girl. I feel so blessed to have experienced this wonderful miracle. Just got back from staying with her for over a week. My wife is a real blessing, she helped out so much. Back in Jun 09 when I was dx with stage 4 colon cancer with mets to the liver and told I had six months, I told myself I would fight this so hard so I still had so much to do. My daughter Nat got married in Oct 09 and I was able to walk her down the isle...what an emotional mess that was!! Then in Jun 10 I saw my son Steve get married. Another miracle...thank you god. It's amazing how the cancer situation has made these events in life so much more meaningful to me and my family. I'm not saying they wouldn't have been before but now I am so grateful for everyday and every event. My granddaughter Maia is beautiful. Now I have to fight on to meet more grandbabies. Sorry I dragged this on but you all are people that I know understands what I'm talking about and not everyone I meet does. Thanks for your support.
Praying for everyone one.
Jeff

    Thanks Winter Marie
It was like an out of this world experience...because there was a time I didn't this I would be around to experience it. Now I'm way to emotional...maybe I should have been earlier in life!
    Thanks Winter Marie

    Jeff, that's wonderful!
I became a first-time grandma when my only child had her first child, a beautiful boy, in August 2011. Then she was diagnosed with stage IV CC before he was two months old. I have to tell you, this little guy is something else - and he is sure giving his mommy a reason to fight this monster. Wait until your little gal starts smiling and laughing! There is nothing else like it. Congratulations to you on your new granddaughter. I wish you many happy times with her in the future. She'll have you wrapped around her little finger.

Hello, its been 18 months since dx, and yes my husband is still fighting, we have a grandchild due 14th April and can not wait i agree with everything you have said, we also thought our journey with cancer would be short, but thanks to god we are still here. Never give up hope. Love to you all.
