I just want to thank you all for you prays, you know that I applied for AHCCS in August as soon as I was out of work. When I went into the DES office they would not even interview me becuase I had not children. Then about two weeks later I get another application stating I am eligable under the disability close they wanted me to return the application by the first of October. So I waited and waited and waited a little bit longer, then two months ago I got tiered of waiting I was going to have to turn my car back in if I could not get on AHCCS really soon. I started calling I have left over 20 messages at my local DES office. No one would call me back, I was able to get the payments on my cars defered to March 18th, well it is coming up very fast and I know my car is going to be going back. Two nights ago I went online trying to find some kind of help, I found the number to AHCCS so today at 9:40am I called them. I was transfered to a very nice lady names Yowanda and see pulled up my case, she told me that the gentleman working on my case has been out sick alot and was not able to finish my application so she took a look at it. She asked if I was receiveing an check. Besides the disablity check I was not but had received short term disabilty check that stopped in Dec. So we made a three way call to them and they told her I have not recieved any money since Dec. when we got off the phone with them yowanda said ok you got it you have been approved, needless to say I was in shock over the phone and with just one found call I now have AHCCS. God is so good to me he has given me hope through my church family and is supplying all my needs. I get to keep the car and do not have to pay 500 a month anymore for health insurance. Thank you all for keeping me in you prays keep it going it is working :)

oh and I forgot 300 in medicationws so now my 872 a month does not have to go to cobra and medicaion. I also will be getting my co-pays from August until now back with I think is going to be about four hundred. She was not sure if I will be give back the money I spent on medication but if so that will be huge

H-L-P (hugs, love, and prays)
Anne

    That is so great, Anne
On top of everything you should not have to stress about how you are going to survive financially. Having worked for a public benefits agency, my advice is to persevere. Your worker was sick but sometimes there is so much work it doesn't get done quickly enough or mistakes are made. I always advise people to contact a supervisor if you do not get results. There is a certain amount of time in which benefits should be issued. If you do not hear anything within that time period, again contact a supervisor. Also people are people. I was very lucky with the social security worker I had. She knew about benefits I should have been receiving that I was not aware I was entitled to. If I had gotten another worker that person may not have been as well informed or dedicated to the job.

    Great news!

    GREAT NEWS, ANNE!
So glad to hear that you had an advocate to process everything for you. And God's blessings also to your church congregation for coming through for you, too. It's difficult enough to face this disease, let alone deal with these 'worldly' snags.

Lots of Hugs and continued Prayers!

This is great to hear. Sometimes it seems like we forget about the financial aspect of this. It is another war in and of itself. I am tickled pink to hear your news! :)

I had been calling for two
I had been calling for two months and no one would talk to me they would send my call to a voice mail and then no one would called me back. When I got just fed up with it I went only and found the number to AHCCCA and just called them instead of going to DES anymore. When I called I found out for two months I was calling the wrong please DES did not have anything to do with this it was all AHCCCS. Now that I know this I will be keeping on top of this. Thanks Kikz for your kind words I also worked for a state department. FAA and then moved to the office that set up new offices. I do understand thay are really over worked with clients and not enough help.
