Basketcase again!

Hi all:

I've been a real basketcase the past few days! Tuesday I left the house to run errands and walk. I stopped at the park about a mile from my house and not many people were there as it had been raining. I noticed when I pulled in a car with two people just sitting there; dumb me thought oh, they're waiting on somebody. Well, they were waiting on somebody alright. Of course I had my purse with me and I've never had any problem doing this sitting on the floor with a beach towel over it. Well, when I finished my walk and got back to my car the passenger window was totally busted out and the purse and the towel was gone! All my bank, credit, id cards everything! I was so upset and it didn't take them long to charge 45.23 in gas but of course that was taken care of. Cost me $250 to replace the window and $5 for my license! The cards were taken care of course, but it just upsets me so that somebody has my things! Wednesday was a real downer and thru tears and being upset I looked at Charlie's picture on the entertainment center and said, "See I told you I'd be a basketcase without you!" Anyway did file a police report and maybe somebody will find it and at least return my purse to me! I realize this dosen't have anything to do with cancer but y'all are my "buds" and wanted to share it with you.

Don't know anything yet about Gladys' husband Eddie. They will find out Tues. liver biopsy reports and what the game plan is. (Gladys is the caregive my brother had and we have remained great friends.) They're thinking that it probably is cancer that started int his stomach and now to the liver but not sure till tests come back. Anyway going to Chatt. for a performance tonite my great niece is in but will return tomorrow. Please keep Gladys and Eddie in your prayers and maybe a longshot that my stuff will be returned to me. God Bless!

    ScuzzBags....
Stuff like that is irritatiing, and unfortunately a sign of our times.....

Now for your scolding...don't do that anymore, better off locking it in the trunk.

But on a positive note, you didn't have it on/with you and you weren't hurt....everything else (though comes with a price) can be replaced.

Unfortunately, and I'm sure you are aware, chances are slim on getting anything back. But again, on a positive note, more than likely they just tossed the things they weren't interested in, and you probably don't have to worry about personal information or your home.

    Again, very sorry......

    Love ya...

    "Garbage can"
Is where your purse was shortly after it got stolen. Please be vigilant in the coming weeks for weird mail or phone calls about anything financial. If the park is that dangerous for 'theft' you should not be walking there alone. Take someone along or better yet, take one of the dogs.

garbage can is where the thieves belong.

Sorry, but I had to smile about you telling Charlie "See I told you...". I can totally see myself feeling that way because I always turn to Andy for everything. I have been trying so hard since his metastasis to become a really independent woman and there's still a long way for me to go. I think I should have been more independent all along.

Sorry about the purse, but thank goodness they weren't there to hurt YOU!

    It feels like being violated
that's the worst part of it. Dang it, even though this is mostly replaceable, it is such a royal PIA to deal with. Watch the credit cards for a bit. We had this happen a few months back, and the VISA caught the theft before he'd charged a single item. Not that he didn't try--- three attempts the first 24 hours. One for $1700.

Sorry for the hassle. Like I said, it is probably more the feeling of violation that upsets than anything.

    Hate to hear that.
Glad you are okay, though! I take Nizzy to the park and walk sometimes, and I'm always a little nervous, because I'm alone. I lock my stuff in the trunk before I even get in the park, and I always tell my parents when I go, and when I will be home, so they know when I'm missing. Sad that you need to do that these days. It's not always possible to take someone with you. All my friends work and I'm single, so if I want to go to the park during the day, then it's just me and Nizzy.

    purses
do not take a purse if you can't take it with you at all times. I live in a small time and there have been over half a dozen cases in the past month of thieves breaking into cars taking purses. (I say why put it in the car?). Trunk isn't a good idea if someone has been watching you (happened to friends). They went from point A to point B and then they stuck their purses in the trunk. Went to point C and someone had followed them from B to C and broke into the trunk.
Desperate times make desperate people so we all have to be more careful than ever...

    Taking It With You...
Anymore, even that isn't a great idea....

Seeing many more cases in Florida where some scumbag tries to yank a purse from someone, especially older ladies.

Knock them down, punch them, drag them through the parking lots from cars....

It's getting terrible, even worse, some of the offenders are other women..or they call themselves women.
