I'm out of pain....

And all tests came back fine. The only thing my doctor thinks is I passed a stone. The last time that I had one, years ago, it broke up before it passed so I assume that happened again. At least there was no "other" problem and I feel blessed and relieved.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers.
Love and hugs,
Wanda

Im glad to hear that you are no longer in pain. Kidney stones suck & make you feel miserable. I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. I hope your weekend is relaxing & you feel like a million bucks.

    Good news
Wanda, it is so good to hear that the doc thinks you have passed the stone. No pain is a good thing. (My son called about two hours ago, and his wife has a kidney stone that is 5 cm, and they are going to have to "blast it" (his words) to break it up so she can pass it. Poor thing has been in horrible pain since last Thursday. I hope her outcome is as good as yours.) Hugs, Judy

    Hi Judy,
    Oh my, I feel her

    Hi Judy,
Oh my, I feel her pain. Honestly it is worse than childbirth pain because with that, you have a baby to look forward to!
Why has she been in pain so long? I bet she was like me and waited to see if it would just go away.
I've heard of blasting them and that's exactly what they do. It's called Lithotriptsy (not spelling right) but I was lucky that it broke up before I passed it.
I wish her the best and I hope she can be pain-free soon.
    Hugs,
    Wanda

    Thanks for your post.
She has had kidney stones off and on for several years, mainly caused from her eating Tums like they are candy. She has had acid reflux for a long time, and doesn't want to get caught up in taking meds that would take care of this. She choose to take Tums, and the end result is that they contain a lot of calcium, thus the kidney stones. Anyway, she is also the mother of four boys, the younger three being stairsteps - 10, 9 and 5. She is also a school teacher, and stays on the move all of the time. Unless she is having "real" pain (as she calls it), she puts herself at the bottom of the list of care. This one, however, has gotten the best of her. They xrayed last Thursday and found the size was such that she couldn't possibly pass it on her own. They inserted a stint between the kidney and the bladder, and it has relieved the pain somewhat. Now they are just waiting on the equipment to "blast" to be available at their hospital (it is a mobile unit). Looks like Friday morning is the soonest they could get her in for treatment. Will let you know how things go, but I really don't expect anything but positive results. My son, on the other hand, is tormented because his wife is down....typical man, right. Will let you know how it goes. Just glad you are doing okay. Hugs, Judy
