Hello my Semi-Colon Family; It's been awhile

For all the newbies, I was DX with Stage II Colon Cancer in 2006 at age 42. I was a fitness nut, but did not take nutrition seriously, so this was a BIG wake-up call for me. Had surgeries, chemo, bumps in the round and hit my 5-year NED mark in July 2011, but this cancer beast will always been in the back of my mind with every ache, pain, discomfort I have. It's all part of the cancer journey that is and will always be part of my life.

I do not post much anymore, but I always check-in to check-up my second family here. Without this family I would not have made it through the difficulties this journey brought me as well as the bumps. You provided me strength, encouragement, love and compassion that is hard to find from someone who has or is not walking in your shoes or along side you down the path.

I need some insight, recommendations, suggestions, etc., for our 30th Wedding Anniversary in Sept 2012. We are trying to figure out where to go to celebrate this wonderful milestone in our lives.

We have come up with a few ideas, but my mind is going numb.

Punta Cana - Paradisus Palm Real Resort (All-Inclusive)
6-9 day Cruise w/Royal Caribbean or Princess (Caribbean area)
Las Vegas
Palm Beach Florida

Please help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May the Lord lay his hand upon each and everyone here

    Hi Nudgie
    Good to see you again!

I don't have any additions to your list, but do vote for Las Vegas!

There is so much more to do than just ganble. Many of the big hotels have free or nearly so attractions which are very interesting. Rent a car and go to Lake Meade and either rent a boat for a day on the lake or take the steam boat ride. An over night at the Grand Canyon is also worth the drive. Glorious views dawn, sunset and all day long.

If you were being more international, I would suggest Lake Lucerne, Switzerland. A beautiful place and very romantic.

Wishing you lots more anniversaries to plan!

    Hugs,

    Marie who loves kitties

    USVI
September is considered the off season in the USVIs so you could probably find a pretty good deal to St Thomas, and then you could island hop and do all sorts of fun things.
    Thanks for sharing your story!!!!

Nudgie, Nice To Hear From You
And I miss your mindblowing puzzles. My vote is for Jackson Hole. The Tetons are my favorite. Or one of those scenery filled train trips up in Canada(never had the chance to go, but it sure looks beautiful). Have a wonderful time, wherever you decide.

    Luv,

    I pick Puerto Vallarta but
I pick Puerto Vallarta but stay away from the all inclusives. Get a condo in town and have fun navigating the restaurants and sometimes cooking in. Any of your options would be great but I would like something a bit more adventurous. Lisa

You are an Inspiration to all
    Hi Nudgie,
Love to hear the good news for we who are just starting our cancer journey. Happy Anniversary. In 2010, my husband and I flew to Honolulu and stayed at a hotel on the beach near Diamond Head. We renewed our vows on the beach and climbed up to the top of Diamond Head Crater. I promised myself we would stay in shape and be back to climb those steps like the 80 year old ladies from Japan. Still have that as my long term goal.
