Pain in buttocks and leg

My husband has had a pain in his buttocks and radiating down a little of his leg. He finished his radiation and chemo (Xeloda) mid December. I read in another post about chemo and radiation can lead sometimes to a blood clot. Should we be worried?

    Hi Michelle,

    Hi Michelle,
One can't help being worried. Every ache and pain often brings fear of something wrong.
Never hesitate to contact your Doc and tell him/her what's going on. It's probably not a clot but you have to go on the side of caution.

He's got a pain in his buttocks?
He oughta' meet my bro-in-law if he want's to know what
a real pain in the buttocks is!

If Hubbo doesn't have the usual swelling along with the pain,
I wouldn't start dropping out the life boats quite yet.... A visit to
the doc to confirm unwarranted fears, would be a nice thing
to have under your pillow, though. He'd have to have a scan
or sonogram, but it's no big deal as long as you have insurance.

Radiation treatments usually carry the abundance of side effects
that include pains in the area of the treatments.

Radiation radiates; it can not be confined to any tiny specific area,
so the radiation damages good cells, many of which make up
nerves and sensory patterns in areas that effect our basic movements.

So yeah, chemo/radiation can do that. It can generate blood clots
also, but I would rack up Hub's symptoms to neurological problems
before I started divvying up the inheritance.

Tell him to get well. Tell him I said that.
    (you stay well too!)

    Thanks
Thanks, both of you. I can't help but worry about him, like you said. But you're right I can't jump to conclusions. I always go the worse case senerio. I should lighten up.
