Happy New Year to you all. Last night we went out to have a meal, but both of us didn't feel like celebrating, what will 2012 bring for us??? The secondary bowel cancer to peritoneal is not curable, so we are both very scared. We felt a little like lepers over the hols, I feel that people don't want to spoil what they have, so most of the time I end up pretending that we are both fine, that helps others not to feel sad!! So sorry to be down on this first day of a brand new year, but I feel as life has treated us badly. I wish all the best of news to all of you out there. xxxxxx

    Sorry Belinda. I hope these feelings will be lifted from you soon. No doubt this is an up and down journey. You are not alone.
    What is the treatment plan for your husband? Any other organ involvement? Have you had a second and third opinion? Clinical trials?
    Others here have/had peritoneal involvement. I hope they will chime in.

    Hello janie1, thank you for your reply, the peritoneal is secondries to bowel dx aug 2010, in july 2011 a ct found malignat ascities and a spot on liver and lung, he has recievied first line chemo in sept 2010, then second line chemo july 2011, he will be off chemo in 3 days. The first chemo was xeloda tabs, and second line was avastin, and oxliplatin IV every 3weeks, and also xeloda at home. The next step is ct 13th jan and results 19th jan and go from there.     That is not very encouraging and just wish it was better news for him. Maybe you should get a second or third opinion just to see what your other options are. It's hard when you are pretending that all is well for everyone else's sake. I'm wishing the best for you both in 2012 and pray it brings better news.
