    My favorite Christmas gift
was of course that I am still here. This is my second Christmas since my diagnosis. I cannot believe it is almost two years already. As my friend and I always say, "Time flies even when you're not having a good time." But I am having a good time each day or try really hard to.

My sister was told she has terminal ovarian cancer
I have never been on a blog. Can you tell me how to go about posting. Looking for support while coping with the probable loss of my closest sister.

Martha: welcome to our discussion board. It looks like you have been successful at posting.

I am sorry your sister has been given bad news--when you think about it, EVERYONE is terminal as none of us will escape death. Even with a poor prognosis, there can be months or years of quality living.

    Welcome Martha
You have come to the right place. There are so many loving and supportive women on this board. I can say from my own experience that coming to this board helped me get through some very difficult times.

You and your sister are in my thoughts and prayers.

    This was my THIRD Christmas,
This was my THIRD Christmas, post-diagnosis. I am just so grateful to be alive, my favorite Christmas gift was just waking up Christmas day. (And a CA125 that went down 2 points.)

    Me..
well, like Carlene, this is my third Christmas post-dx and I was happy to see Christmas day too! On the material side, my favorite gift was the first two seasons of True Blood. Thats right ladies, the raunchy, mature audience only, vampire saga. While putting the first DVD in the player I told my daughter in my matter of fact mom tone, "ya know honey I am part vampire." My daughter looked at me like I am crazy, rolled her eyes and said, " WHAT are you talking about?" I told her because I have had three blood transfusions. BAHAHA.

    Hey Mary
I guess most of us here are part vampire too. I never had a blood transfusion in 62 years and then I had two during treatment. Hmmm maybe that is why I find Edward Cullen strangely sexy even at my age.

    my favorite Christmas gift
This was one of the best Christmas seasons I have had in a long time,
and my second one, since diagonsis... not having any $$ to get presents,
and getting caught up in the materialism made this one so very special

It was so nice to decorate around the house, listen to Christmas music
all day, and count my blessings.... hearing "Christmas is not in a store",
from The Grinch movie, really moved me, cuz ya know, it isnt in a store,
    its in the soul

Watching the Celtics, even though they did not win was pure joy on
12/25/11... later that afternoon and into the evening, it was a blast
sharing stories and laughs with some of my peeps in chat... so glad
    chat was working that day!

A couple of people had the 'bah humbug' thing going, but that sounded
like something from another planet, and I made sure to let these folks
know to take that attitude and flush it!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

    Second Christmas as a survivor
Like you, dreamer, I also had no money for Christmas gifts. Of course, no one even expected anything from me. I ended up wrapping up and giving away my own possessions (whatever seemed appropriate). My kids had fun seeing what their gift was.

My favorite gift was having the family together & all of them enjoying good health.
