High Scanxiety

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I have to go into the cancer center for a CT scan to see if the chemo that I have been on for about 3 months now is doing any good. I am stage 4 and this is not expected to cure me, but my wife and I are in high hopes that this has slowed down the growth of these little nasties. I have to then wait a week until December 5 to see my oncologist to get the news. Also, today was my 40th anniversary with my wonderful wife. We had originally made plans for a trip for our 40th, but that was not to be. Some anniversary this turned out to be.

    I hear you
Last year while on vacation in France, I got up one fine morning to discover my second cancer erupting in the floor of my mouth. I waited till we got home to tell my wife, but it did put a bit of a damper on my vacation. Now a year later, all bets are off. I don't know, maybe that's the last long trip I'll take. It is a somber thought, but one I have to accept. Guess we've had to adjust our sights a bit.

Best wishes to you. Waiting is the hardest part.

    Scans
    Hi Roger,

Hope you get good results from this scan and that the days leading up to Dec 5 don't drag on too slowly. Whatever the results, I think you and your wife should still take that trip you were planning. 40 years together is something to celebrate. Cheers.

It's not the scan, roger, but the results that get you (if they are going to). Best wishes for successful results. In the meantime, live life like it matters. It does, after all, regardless of those results.

    Take care,

Good luck and thoughts are with you
    Roger,

Hope you get good news and that the "nasties" are in full retreat (or at least on a long R&R)

High Anxiety. . . you win!
I'm singing "High Anxiety" every time I see this thread. It's about time to show that movie to the kids. . . . but we have to show them a few more Hitchcock films first.

Keep your sense of humor about you, no matter what the results; however, I hope they are the best possible.
