Took my first Femara

I took it at 10pm. I guess I'm on to the next step now. Radiation will be over in three more sessions. The current plan is that I'm to be on it for 10 years.

I was told to take it in the morning but that really didn't seem right to me. The papers said that it might make me drowsy and to not drive until I knew how I reacted. That, to me, screams that it needs to be taken at night. My other reasoning is that I do well to get myself up and dressed in the morning. I don't remember anything. I don't fully wake up until afternoon. I'd miss it about 50% of the time if I took it in the morning. From what I read, it doesn't sound like it matters when you take it just so long as you're consistent. For me that means it's going to have to happen at night.

Well, that's one down and 3649 more to go.

    Wow, I never counted how
Wow, I never counted how many I would be taking! Interesting. The first time I took arimidex was hard. Now, three months later, it isn't so bad. I used to take mine at night also but when I was talking to my oncologist about hot flashes, she said to try taking it in the morning so just keep that in mind. I don't know if the side effect are different. Mine have really improved over the last couple of months. The creaky joints aren't bad at all, the hot flashes are getting better. So keep that in mind if you start having side effects, they may lesson or go away once you get used to it.

    I have been
taking Femera for 1 year. I take mine a dinner time (6:30-7:00). I do it that way because then I don't forget since I eat dinner every day! So far I have not had any effects from it. Hope you don't either.

Hi. I have been on Femara
Hi. I have been on Femara for a little over a year. I also take mine at night. I've been lucky that it seems to agree with me and my side effects are minimal. Good Luck.

I take it in the morning. For me it's the only time of the day that I can remember to take anything with any regularity. I've been on it since early Feb. 2010 and have had no SE. But then I never had any hot flashes when I went through natural menopause in 1991.

I was originally told I'd be on Femara for 5 years but the last time I saw Dr T. He said that I'll probably be on it forever as that was what the more recent research was indicating with IBC.

no hot flashes the first go around
I didn't have any hot flashes when I went through menopause. Well, maybe three, but that was it. I've been hoping that this means I won't have any/many with the meds. Glad to see that this was the case for you. Hopefully it will be for me too.
