Hi, you are in my thoughts... I haven't been able to post, but please know that you are in my thoughts and my prayers. I am always apprensive when I open this thread...my heart is always in my throat.
I have a question, I realize my husbands issues at this point are not as daunting as other situations. I just recieved a phone call from my husband as he was leaving radiation treamtment. He indicated that during radiation he threw up some tissue. Doc. said this was normal. The esophageal tissue will either be digested or thrown up. I am gathering that this is tissue from within the esophagus? Is this normal?
Treatments are starting to affect him physically; tried, chemo-rria, rash, mild nausea(all under contol). Sometimes he has this blank stare.....his eyes look a little sunken in. His frist weigh in at the onco was 145 he is up to 164 now. Very difficult at first, his stomach had shrunk. He drinks 3 ensures a day. One ensure with half a cup of heavy whipping cream (the kind in a carton) and three scoops of Ice cream. Other eats: ramein noodles and for some reason he is able to eat Mc Double hamburgers but takes him a very long time. I am so proud of him. After Doc said no feeding tube, he began drinking as many calories as possible,a very difficult and time consuming task. His calorie intake per day 2500 to 3400 a day. I am not sure how long this will last. Tomorrow will be his fourth chemo treatment with two more to go.
Don't sweat the small stuff, and try to find some inner peace today.. if only for a moment!
With Love from Sal
