Sweetblood was right

You have to love the Social Security Administration. Last week I received a notice to go for another SSA doctor appointment and in the same stack of mail was another letter cancelling the appointment. Today I check my on-line banking account and find a rather large deposit had been made by SSA so I assume I am approved for disability - I received no notice I had been approved.

Now I get to write the check to my insurance company for the total amount - yes Dawn it looked good for a while.

Side note - I'm now trying to use my tube with real food...not as difficult as I thought and will save me a lot in Dec when I return to Mazatlan for thee weeks.

Ya'll take care now, ya hear!

Denny

    I'm with you on this....
I applied and was denied. Appealed and won. It took several years. Got a questionaire preliminary to their challenging my ongoing disability a few years later. As I had just had a major cardiac event, that seemed to satisfy their curiousity without another battle. Now that I've had two more ENT cancers, I doubt I'm on their front burner any more. The caveat is keeep good records forever if your receiving disability benefits. Be certain your medical records continue to document your disability. And keep copies of your records, as this may simplify your life.

    Mexico...
Denny, can you buy a house in Mexico and live on the money.....

Still can't believe the BS concerning that....especially with our very lax immigration laws.

    Best Brother,

    Yes
The house we bought was purchased knowing we could live quite well just on my military retirement (total utilities including cable, internet and VOIP phoine are less than $200.00 per month including taxes). Now add my 401k plus SSA and it would have been great. Oh yes, we are also just two blocks from the central market where the food is unbelievable in quality and cost. I'm working on the 30 day limit but I KNOW I can't get around a six months per year limitation for seven more years.

The week that I bought my 'new' 2006 Toyota Carolla, last year in May, I wrote out that check, and the check to unum in the same week. That was the most $$$ I ever had in my checking account ever. That was short lived. That was the most money I ever personally wrote for checks, too. Lol. The money for the car was supposed to be the deposit on a house.

IIRC, I got a letter and a phone call saying I was approved for SSD. The insurance company called me three times to remind me to send them the money back.
