An excerpt from the book “Embrace, Release, Heal,” from an interview with Abram Hoffer, MD, PhD, a specialist in orthomolecular therapy (OMT) (treating with vitamins and nutrients). “…Dr. Hoffer was glad to report that there is a growing international movement to study and use OMT. The University of Kansas, for example, has an OMT component in its medical school. Some newly published papers are beginning to validate how valuable it is. Vitamin C therapy for ovarian cancer is especially effective and Dr. Hoffer reported that the medical exams at the University of Kansas are now referring to the use of OMT.” See more at orthomed.org

    for all your info on naturopathic therapis. I have found one and after 3 weeks feel so much stronger and less fatigue. She is in MD and MD doesn't allow high dose vit c via iv. I had my 6th dose of carbo/taxol in early aug, ct and pet scans show NeD but my markers are up from 35 in aug to 217 in sep to 350 end of oct. I've read, and learned from you, so much about high dose vit c, i feel i need to get on it with this marker elevation. Do u agree? Mu onc is a nonbeliever re: alternative therapies.

    Even though I still have a high CA-125 at this time, I have been staying off chemo a little longer to allow my body to get stronger before I go back on chemo again. I have been using the high dose vitamin C IVs for over a year. I was diagnosed with papillary serous epithelial ovarian cancer and it was very aggressive before AND after surgery.

    I have managed to slow the cancer down a lot and buy myself some time by using various anti-inflammatory therapies & the vitamin C treatments. I still have a significant amount of peritoneal cancer on my scan but I have no ascites or other symptoms.

    That's my experience. I heard there were some clinical trials using vitamin C treatments along with chemo but lost track of them.

    All I can say is you can either trust a website with vague, off-handed, inclusive comments about alternative therapies, or you can read the statistics, the NEW research, and the testimonials of people who have used it. The choice is yours. There will always be outdated and inaccurate information on the internet, and if you want to find something the denounces it, you WILL find it.

    Yes!
    IV C is one of those integrative therapies that does no harm and can do a lot of good. If you are still receiving chemo, it will boost your immune system, something chemo weakens, and make you feel a lot better during the treatments. In addition, it kills cancer cells AND makes them more sensitive to the chemo treatments. In your situation, again it will help rebuild your immune system, and will help keep anything that is trying to grow at least partially controlled. IVC is not a stand alone cure for cancer, but the studies and the patients show it really helps. My medical oncologist was very anti-IVC while I was going through treatment. Now that she has seen the results in me and a hand full of other cancer patients, she has started referring patients to the nurse practitioner who administers mine.

    Thanks very much for the information and being strong in your beliefs and willingness to step outside of the traditional box. Your bringing this to the attention of your oncologist will hopefully begin the transition of traditional only to the inclusion of those additional things that a person can do to help themselves reach the highest possibility that they will be cured of cancer.
