Kind of nervous

Flying to California tomorrow morning, alone. It is a short flight, but I have not done anything alone other than grocery shopping or going to a doctor appointment in a year! Amazing how I have gone into my own little world, and now it is hard to get back out. My sister-in-law will pick me up at the airport, then we will meet my sister and niece and her 2 sisters for lunch, then I will be off to San Diego with my sister and niece to spend time with my younger sister. Will pick up my daughter-in-law on Sunday at noon at the airport in Orange County, and then her and I will spend 4 days in OC, visiting with my brother and Sister-in-law. It will be nice to spend a few days with each while I am not on chemo.

I was hoping to feel a little better without the chemo, but so far the only difference is that I am not nauseated. I was hoping some of the neuropathy would go away and I would have more energy, but I guess it will take some time. So I will enjoy myself and worry about the 'big C' when I get home.

This has been a hard 2 weeks as one of my nieces passed away at 41 from cardiac arrest. This was not expected at this time. She was born with congenital heart problems and had many open heart surgeries over the years. Yet, she remained so positive and happy. She was always so concerned for others who were having a rough go of something. The service will be held in 3 weeks and all of my brothers and sisters will be coming for the memorial and a celebration of her life. She was an amazing woman! But my heart breaks for her parents.

So off to the bank and need to pack. Am taking the chair for the first time and don't know what to expect with that either!

Hope everyone has a healthy week!

Good that you are taking a "canceration" and getting away from all the dealing with the disease that we do!

I have been flying a lot since diagnosis, it seems like i am not as afraid for some reason. I work with those kids with heart defects and it is a rough road, but it seems the ones with the most to deal with have the best attitudes. sorry she passed,

    Thanks everyone,
I feel like such a wimp. I have always been so independent, never thought I would be nervous to do anything on my own! Good thing I will be surrounded by family and the weather has been nice and hot so I will relish the sunshine. Everyone have a great weekend.

My niece's services will be in November and we will all be together to support her parents.

    Carol I'm sorry to hear
Carol I'm sorry to hear about your niece. Your family seems so supportive and close, I'm sure you provide a lot of comfort for each other.

As for your travels...I'm thinking that once you accomplish this you'll have some of that old confidence and independence back. Be sure to ride on one of those big golf cart thingies that always seem to want to run over the pedestrians in the airport...I always want to when I travel and I'd be happy to live vicariously.

    Hugs,

    Linda

Yes it is quite the bummer about your niece. It seems that the kind ones leave us far too soon.

Have fun while you are gone. You will do just fine I am sure. You can ignore cancer while gone. Every one needs a break like that.

    Hi Carol!
my deep felt condolences to you. It must have been quiet a shock to loose her so
unexpectedly. You are in my thoughts.

I hope you have a wonderful trip to help you recover and reboot. You are still amazingly
independent from my point of view. You go girl!!! Take that chair places it has never been...

    Love,

    Ayse
